Elder Scrolls Online 60GB install, not PS4 or Xbox One

With three months to go until the official release of The Elder Scrolls Online for PC and MAC, with PS4 and Xbox One to follow 2 months after, interested gamers have been asking as to the system requirements. Thankfully, those questions have now been answered on the games support page, and there is one minor detail that has caused some fans to air their concern.

Looking at one key factor on the Elder Scrolls Online system requirements we can see that it has an install size of 60GB. It doesn’t state that directly, but you have to make certain you have at least 60GB of free hard drive or SSD storage space free.

What gamers have found surprising is how come Elder Scrolls Online Beta only required 30GB? Those who have participated in the Beta have been asking how the install size has got that big because they have not seen anything in the game in its current state to suggest why this is.

There is a fear that a 60GB install size could be a concern for those of you who decide to go for the digital option. However, it’s most likely that the files will be compressed to more than half that size and then has to be uncompressed.

This would mean that the game itself might not be 60GB, but it just needs this amount of space to install the game and after those compressed files can be deleted.

If this is to be the case, then the actual size of the game could still be around 30GB. These requirements only account for the PC and MAC versions of the game, as for the PS4 and Xbox One there are no system requirements as yet.

For those of you who have been considering getting Elder Scrolls Online, then Ubisoft has an incentive to get you to download the game from them.
