Avengers Alliance PVP rating check after Playdom fix

By Alan Ng - Jan 29, 2014

We’re pleased to bring you an update following on from the widespread outrage regarding PVP Season 13 for Marvel’s Avenger Alliance. Developers Playdom have now issued a statement on the matter, putting things right with a fix that should enable all players to get the rewards they earned before the tournament ended abruptly.

To recap on the events, read through the article here, as well as the outrage from the Marvel community in the comment section.

In a long story put short, Playdom ended the tournament minutes before the countdown was up due to a bug involving Deadpool. The problem with this was that players were not given a heads-up that this was about to happen and was made even worse when we confirmed that Playdom initially knew about the problem on Saturday.

Producer for the game Justin Woods has since deleted his Twitter messages where he admitted the team knew about it on Saturday, but for some reason decided against letting the community know about it at the first opportunity.

As a result, players were unhappy that they appeared to waste their time and effort for nothing – but there has been a pleasing outcome we’re happy to report.

Below is a statement from Playdom on the matter:

“We received your feedback regarding this decision and we understand that this caused a high amount of frustration. We have taken the necessary steps to resolve the issue that lead to this decision and we will be awarding all players the rewards associated with the League they had achieved on 1/27/2014 5:15pm PST if this League was higher than their final placement on 2/3/2014.”

The developer adds that rewards will be handed out to affected players on a manual basis, meaning that it could take a few days to receive your original league reward that you earned on Monday January 27, or Tuesday morning depending on where you live.

Here’s the important part: So how do you find out which league you were in at specifically 5.15 Pacific Time? Luckily, you can check this on Facebook thanks to the Activity Log.

Simply head to your settings tab on Facebook, select Activity Log and scroll down to January 27 and you should see some details there, including updates on movement between the PVP leagues. This information should look like the image we’ve provided below – obviously you’ll need to convert your local time into 5.15pm PST to ensure everything is correct – looks like I miss out on Agent Venom!

So there we have it – well done to Playdom for making the right decision. Hopefully they will take the criticism on board and try to treat their fanbase a little better in future.

Let us know which league you finished in before the PVP season ended early. Are you safe in Adamantium league, or will you have to do it all again next week?
