By Alan Ng - Jan 28, 2014

While we have spoken a lot about the Galaxy Tab Pro and Galaxy Note 12.2 tablets that are due to release soon, let’s not forget that a lovely Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is also on the way. For those that are only interested in picking up the smaller option, we have a useful but brief Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 Vs Nexus 7 2013 review for you to watch.

Samsung has said that the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 will be released within the Q1 2014 period. Crucially though, they haven’t told everyone what the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 price will be yet.

This is obviously a key factor for consumers, as most will want to know how it compares to the Nexus 7 2013 – easily one of the tablets that most tech fans automatically turn to.

The $230 price point for the Nexus 7 is a real shining point, so Samsung really needs to keep their Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 below $300 if they want to stay competitive.

If the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 has caught your eye at CES 2014 and you want a closer look, you’ll definitely find the video below helpful.

It gives you a general feel how the 8.4 size compares to the 7-inch Nexus 7 as well as a reminder on just how impressive the Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 display is at 2560×1600 pixels. The Nexus 7 2013 has a great display of its own, but its age is perhaps starting to show with only a 1920×1200 resolution display.

The Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4 is also running on a faster Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor compared to the Nexus 7 2013 model which is running on a Snapdragon S4 Pro chip.

Take a look at the video for a full heads-up and let us know if you think Samsung are starting to overtake Google’s Nexus tablets. Is it time for Google to bring out some upgrades of their own?
