Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update rollout extends

By Updated on

Were you part of the initial rollout that saw Samsung put an official Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4.2 Kitkat update up for download? Don’t worry if you are still waiting as we have news suggesting that Samsung are now in the progress of extending that rollout to more models and regions.

We told you that an early Kitkat update was available to those who were willing to test out a pre-release version of the firmware. It was an official build from Samsung, it just hadn’t gone live in an OTA update at the time.

Now though, we can see that Samsung are moving forward to their steps to get all Galaxy Note 3 users updated to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat globally.

The Galaxy Note 3 models running on the Exynos and Snapdragon processor are now starting to get an official update to Kitkat.

These include the Galaxy Note 3 SM-N900, as well as the Galaxy Note 3 SM-N9005 models. Countries confirmed so far are India, South Korea, and Switzerland – but many other countries could be going live as we speak, so check your device.

The update should be around 380MB in size and as always you can perform a manual check in your device settings if you still haven’t received an OTA notification to update direct on your phone or via Kies.

If you have a Galaxy Note 3, let us know if you have now received a notification to update to Android 4.4.2 Kitkat. Also tell us how your device is performing after installation!

(India) I received the update notification yesterday when I connected my Exynos version of Note 3. I updated it and takes around 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on your net speed.
