We have some great news for those of you who own the original Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and are still sitting on Android Jelly Bean. If you are willing to partake in some custom activities, we can confirm that an early Galaxy Note 10.1 Android 4.4 Kitkat update is now available in 2014.
It’s an exciting time to own a Samsung phone or tablet it seems, as it was only a few days ago that we were telling you about a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Android 4.4 Kitkat update going live as well. Now though, it is time for the Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet to get some love and the update is available thanks to those guys over at the XDA Forums.
For a tablet that originally shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, this is massive news for all Galaxy Note 10.1 users. It is a custom ROM that is available, which also allows you to put CyanogenMod 11.0 onto your tablet.
Feedback gathered over at XDA suggest that the update is working smoothly, with some even going as to say that the Android 4.4 Kitkat update on Galaxy Note 10.1 is ‘beautiful’.
As always though, this isn’t an official update from Samsung so you should always take caution and only install if you know what you are doing. For safe measures, you should always make a back up of your data and information just in case something does go wrong during installation.
The guidelines are pretty straight forward though over at XDA. You’ll find the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 Android 4.4 Kitkat download links there and installation instructions along the way.
For those that are going to try this out, please let us know below how you get on.
