Even though the PS4 is now with us and has been doing very well so far, much better than its predecessor in the early days, it is not a reason for Sony to forget about PS3 users and leave them high and dry. It is for this reason why they need to keep offering support for the previous generation console, as it could become a true classic, just as the PS2 has.
The problem is, some gamers have no intention of getting a PlayStation just yet for many reasons. The first is because they would rather wait until all the issues with the PS4 have been ironed out. Secondly, they would like to see the price of the PlayStation 4 drop even more before they consider a purchase.
Thirdly, many gamers are still trying to get through their backlog of games before making the switch. Then there is the final reason, some gamers would rather play the hell out of the PS3 for many years to come because of the money invested into the system and it being more cost effective in terms of game titles.
It is for those very reasons why Sony should update its firmware on the PS3 and soon would be welcomed by owners. We have come across a rather interesting PS3 version 4.54 wishlist for new features, and so we would like to know if you agree with them, or if you would like to add anything else?
One of the first features that need to be added is being able to mark messages as read. Another needed feature on the wish list is the ability to see PlayStation 4 and PS Vita friends who appear online, along with what games they are currently playing.
Having full Dualshock 4 compatibility would certainly be a great addition to the PlayStation 3, and so would being ably to respond to Voice Messages as well as viewing screen shots.
Remember, these are just a personal view of what needs to be added to the next PS3 firmware update, if and when it will be released.
