Earlier on we gave you a few details on the new Asus Transformer Book Duet TD300, specifically in relation to the new dual boot feature which can boot between Android and Windows 8.1 in mere seconds. Now, we bring you information on another device, the Micromax Canvas Laptab, which also claims to offer a similar dual boot feature between Windows 8 and Android.
For those that are familiar with Micromax due to the popular Canvas 4, we have a feeling that many of you will be interested in what the new Canvas Laptab can do. If you are specifically looking for the winner between a Micromax Canvas Laptab Vs Transformer Book Duet TD300 showdown though – there is only one outcome.
Both of these tablets dual boot into Android and Windows, but unfortunately users will need to reboot the Canvas Laptab during each dual boot. This is completely different to the Asus Transformer Book Duet though, as their product will be able to perform this feature in seconds.
To give you an example of what we are talking about, we have included two videos below from CES 2014 as evidence. Watch as it takes a few minutes to change OS on the Canvas Laptab, but only a few seconds to do the same task on the new Asus Transformer.
We’re hearing that the Canvas Laptab is going to be $100 cheaper than the $599 Transformer Book Duet, but are you still convinced with the slow boot times shown in the clips below? The time it takes to change modes may start to become frustrating over time, but perhaps a software update could improve on this in the future.
Take a look at the clips below and let us know what you think. Are the slow boot times compared to the Asus tablet a big deal to you or not? Price may still be the deciding factor for a lot of you.
