Minecraft players listen up as update 1.03 for the PS3 is incoming with fixes. The update is expected to be rolled out in the next few days, with 4J studios posting the details and announcing on Twitter that they hope it is out before next week.
The software patch’s availability will depend on how it performs in Sony’s tests which are underway. You can read the full change log of fixes on the Minecraft Blog, although we will run through the main ones with you here. The first big fix is to a save file corruption issue which has been affecting players on splitscreen and multiplayer modes of the game.
The updating of the Minecraft leaderboards and the awarding of trophies has been a problem, this should be remedied with the update. A patch has been included for a common memory issue which causes the game to freeze and then crash, frustratingly taking players back to the XMB.
More multiplayer and splitscreen updates have been added which stops an unwarranted prevention of game joining, also crashing when a player is added and the language is set to Russian. Update 1.03 will also bring some rendering improvements to the game. Take a look out our other Minecraft news to do with features and updates.
