Are you having problems locating PS4 stock in the UK, US and other parts of the world? Those who didn’t pre-order a system may be living to regret that decision now, with many independent sellers now starting to mark up prices as a result of the increased demand.
Despite Sony’s previous attempts to ensure consumers that PS4 stock would be healthy, it has become apparent that walking into a shop and simply walking out with a PS4 is seemingly impossible at the moment.
It’s not just UK and US gamers that are having problems either. We have confirmation that the PS4 drought has also reached countries like Hong Kong too. Despite launching later on December 17, PS4 stock is almost sold out everywhere until further notice.
Even worse, we were quoted significantly higher prices than normal – such as $4280 HKD from “Perfect Denki” compared to the original retail price of $3380. It’s a similar situation on Amazon too, as independent sellers all look to take advantage and make a quick profit from those willing to pay above the odds.
Sony meanwhile encourages gamers to be ‘patient’, as the company races to make more inventory available in the coming weeks. The big question though, is when will we get to a point where consumers can freely walk into their favorite gaming store and buy a PS4 without problem – we just don’t see it happening any time soon.
Are you still having problems buying a PS4 console in your area? Have you also noticed higher prices than normal from greedy sellers? If you are affected by this, give us your story below and where you are trying to buy from.
