Grand Theft Auto 5 proved one of the most successful games of 2013, however it sounds like it could have been even better. It has been revealed that a lot of killer content was cut from GTA V, but luckily this may be added to GTA online in the near future.
Aaron Garbut who is director of art at Rockstar North has confirmed in an interview that a lot of ideas were discarded from the game as the development process moved forward. Fans of the Grand Theft Auto franchise may still see this abandoned gameplay, as Garbut confirmed that certain ideas could be introduced to GTA Online due to the game no longer being static.
The Rockstar development team has admitted that the approach they used with GTA V was a gamble that could have backfired, especially using several main characters.
It could be another gamble reviving the content that was removed, releasing an update full of rejected gameplay is risky. However the quality of GTA V makes it likely that any new DLC would be to a good standard. There is never a shortage of demand for new gameplay and it is likely a majority of GTA fans will want to see what Rockstar was originally cooking.
