Final Fantasy XV on PS4, Xbox One exclusivity

As most of you are well aware, Final Fantasy XV has now become a multi-platform game, transforming itself from Final Fantasy Versus XIII, which was originally only considered as a PS3 exclusive. Now the game is coming to Xbox One and there is discussion on what went wrong on Sony’s part in the game ‘changing sides’.

Final Fantasy XV is yet to be given a release date, but fans are expecting it to drop towards the end of 2014. It will be on Xbox One which is great news for those who have bought Microsoft’s console, but PS4 users on the other hand may be starting to wonder why the game isn’t a PS4 exclusive.

For the neutral, this is obviously a win win situation. However, whispers started by insider Thuway suggest that Final Fantasy XV was still initially intended as a PS4 exclusive and wouldn’t be released on Xbox One.

Furthermore, the same person also suggests that Sony may not have been willing to pay Square-Enix the large sums of money the company required in order to keep it on Sony’s PS4 only. As we’ve seen many times before, Microsoft have no problems forking out costs for exclusive, so money could be the sole reason (not series loyalty) why Final Fantasy XV is now a multi-platform game.

Either way, the game is on the way to both platforms so everyone will be able to play it – which is the main point.

Does it bother you that under the table agreements often affects a developer’s decision on which platform to develop for though? Give us your thoughts below.

More GAMERS are going to be able to enjoy this GAME, so I don’t know why this topic is interesting.

People will find it interesting just because it’s news, not because there’s actually anything interesting about it, if you get what I’m saying, though this news does come as a shock to me.
