Upgrade to Google Glass brings new YouTube, WSJ apps

Google Glass has been given a nicely timed update which adds five new apps, including YouTube and The Wall Street Journal . The wearable accessory has been upgraded to include extra functionality with Weather Alerts, Hangouts and Winkfeed.

Google announced the changes on their Google+ account and has given us some insight into how the new GlassWare will improve your device. The YouTube app allows you to upload videos you have recorded using Google glasses instantly and easily to the site. You can also choose an upload preference such as public, private or unlisted depending on who you want to see your content.

The Wall Street Journal app will keep you up to date with breaking news, providing live updates on the issues that are important to you. You can read or listen about your favorite topics including business, technology and politics.

The Weather Alert feature will provide you with live information about weather situations that are relevant to you. Whether you want to know about sun or storms, your glass will keep you informed with real time alerts. The weather app can be customized to your liking with over 120 different alert preferences.

Winkfeed’s app will take all of the best news and topics from your favorite sites and push them all through to your Google Glass. You can select which feeds provide you with your desired information and are saved in the pocket. The new Hangouts feature will now let you make group video calls and also send and receive photos and messages to your contacts.
