We have some very exciting news for all you Elder Scrolls fans out there as the release date for the upcoming online game has been announced alongside an awesome new gameplay trailer. Bethesda has announced that the Elder Scrolls Online will launch first on PC and Mac on April 4th 2014, with the Xbox One and PS4 releases coming in June.
You may be wondering why the PC and console launches are separate; the reason for this is so that Bethesda can handle the chaos. The worldwide demand for the Elder Scrolls Online is so huge that the overload of players would surely crash the game’s servers. To combat this Bethesda are using a separate rollout to spread the initial service load, preventing disappointment on launch day.
The epic gameplay trailer which you can watch below shows the scale of huge PVP battles between various factions in the game. The Elder Scrolls Online is capable of staging battles between hundreds of different players at the same time, something which will wag the tails of large clans and friends who game online together.
Bethesda’s last Elder Scrolls outing was with Skyrim, a game which won high critical praise and enjoyed fantastic success. A benchmark has been laid down which the Elder Scrolls Online will be expected to surpass. That is until the Elder Scrolls 6 makes it way to us in the hopefully not so distant future.
What do you think of the gameplay trailer, is it as you had hoped? Let us know what you would like to see added to the game and if you will be playing on launch day.
