Are you a fan of budget tablets? Over the busy shopping period we kept you up to date with a whole collection of features which took a look at some of the best and cheapest tablets that money can buy. The Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9 and Nexus 7 2013 are probably head and shoulders above the rest at the moment, but now we have possible plans on Samsung potentially threatening to change this trend in a big way.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is a tablet that has proved to be a big hit among consumers over the Holiday season. Several retailers were featuring it with a discount, although hardware specs were not too amazing compared to the quad-core based Kindle Fire HDX and Nexus 7 2013 mentioned above.
Price is everything to consumers though as you know, and it seems that Samsung are planning a big move in 2014. Whispers have emerged suggesting that a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite is in the works and that Samsung plan to offer a release date of mid-January for the device.
Hardcore specs are not going to be the main factor on the Lite we’re hearing, but instead price – a potential tablet that could be around $135 or 100 Euros on the market. Considering that the Nexus 7 2013 is $230 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 7 the same price – this already sounds rather appealing.
An idea on Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Lite specs are not available unfortunately yet, but if the information over at SamMobile is true, then we have a feeling that this tablet will be one of Samsung’s planned announcements at CES 2014.
As we wait more details, give us your reaction to this – would you seriously be interested in picking up a Samsung 7-inch Galaxy Tab 3 that is under $200?
