Every holiday season Apple releases its 12 days of Christmas app, which gives iOS users the chance to take advantage of some free gifts. However, in the past those of you in the US had to watch while people in Canada, Europe and other countries were given the preferential treatment.
However, that is to change this year because Apple’s 12 days of Christmas app has been expanded to include iOS users in the US for 2013.
This means that a wider audience will now be able to get their hands on free gifts that include music, videos, books or even apps. You can download the app today in anticipation of the gift event, which we have just done and we can already see the app has been given a makeover for 2013.
Once downloaded you can set the app to ping the moment a free gift has been made available. Like every year, we have no idea as to what the free gifts will be, but even if some are pointless to you, getting 5 great gifts are worth it because they are free.
However, there is a downside, and that is the fact that Apple’s 12 Days of Christmas app is only available to those running iOS 7. This is a sneaky way to get more people to upgrade to the latest OS
