Ninja Block’s Sphere to manage your homes systems

By Updated on

Looking for a smart new way to control all of the functions of your home through one device? Ninja Block’s newest product, the Ninja Sphere may well be just the ticket. The upcoming Sphere will manage your home’s systems, even providing features such as pet tracking.

The Ninja Sphere can automatically complete tedious tasks for you such as switching off lights and appliances, as well as notify you if your valuables are being moved. The device can tap into your other devices such as the TV and keep you up to date on all of the relevant things you want it to.

Featuring an odd but somewhat unique design, the Ninja Sphere uses a combination of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and LED lights to power its trilateration process. This method uses at least three overlapping signals to pinpoint the exact location of particular objects. The device measures the layout and spaces within your home and tracks items and features that you want it to.

If for example you put a Bluetooth tag on to your cat, you can see its live movements around the house. You can tag pretty much any object you like and you will be alerted if it is not where it should be. The Ninja Sphere can also save you money as it will tell you what appliances have been left on or are being used incorrectly; taking the most appropriate course of action.

The open source smart device will also control elements such as your energy use with hand gestures. The Ninja Sphere can team up with your smartphone to conveniently change something within the home without having to move. If you leave your phone in the bedroom and it rings, Ninja Sphere can tell you via your lounge TV exactly what is going on upstairs.

Unfortunately we are unlikely to see the Ninja Sphere until at least next summer; because its Australian based developer Ninja Block is still seeking more backers and donations on the project. The Kickstarter campaign is growing and hopefully will ensure the futuristic device will make it into our homes soon. If the Ninja Sphere makes it to the worldwide market is it a device you would buy for your home?
