Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Vs Xperia Tablet Z review

By Alan Ng - Dec 8, 2013

Is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition the best 10-inch tablet on the market right now? Google appears to have missed a big opportunity with the missing Nexus 10 2013 model, but one tablet that is slowly gaining popularity as a great alternative is the Sony Xperia Tablet Z.

At the moment, it doesn’t look like the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 can be beaten in a pure hardware specs battle. The Nexus 10 2013 model may have something to say about this when Google finally releases it, but for now it appears that Samsung has really locked it down.

In terms of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Vs Xperia Tablet Z specs, the Xperia Tablet Z comes close to matching the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition – but perhaps not close enough for you to buy the Xperia Tablet Z over Samsung’s device.

For example, the Xperia Tablet Z runs on a quad-core 1.5Ghz Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, with 2GB of RAM. While this is still very good, it’s no comparison to the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 which offers 3GB of RAM and a stellar quad-core 2.3Ghz Snapdragon 800 processor instead.

Both run on the Adreno graphics setup, meaning that both are going to offer you stunning gaming performance with the most demanding titles that the Google Play Store can offer. Both also have 8 megapixel cameras on the rear, while both offer expandable storage via MicroSD card.

While the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition wins out on performance, we have to say that the Xperia Tablet Z wins it in the design stakes. Sony’s tablet is absolutely beautiful to hold, with a thinness of 6.9mm compared to the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014’s 7.9mm making the Xperia Tablet Z the thinnest 10.1-inch tablet in the world.

We’ve included a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Vs Xperia Tablet Z review below, offering you further examination. Do you own either of these tablets? If so, give us your thoughts on usability and whether you agree that performance on the Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 is unmatched, but the design on the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is also above all other 10.1-inch tablets.

I bought the Tablet Z because it’s waterproof, has NFC, and can learn any IR code by pointing the remote at the tablet’s receiver. All of these are features not offered by the 2014 Note 10.1.

Google has missed the prime shopping season. The result? More and more of us have decided to purchase the Samsung 10.1 2 2014 edition. Had I not waited for the release of a Google ten inch tablet, I could have saved $50 had I purchased the Samsung on Black Friday.

Why does Google insist on using their lame veils of secrecy? Why do they even have a public relations and marketing department? They obviously think they are above us customers. Well guess what? You can blow me while I use my new, fabulous Samsung.

Well duh, this Galaxy Note is going to perform better it’s a much newer tablet. This is a bad comparison. It should be comparing a Android tablet or iPad that has come out in the last 3 months. Not one that is almost a year old. The next Sony tablet will probably beat this Galaxy Note, until the next Note comes out.
