As you may well know the launch of the Xbox One also brought Kinect 2.0 and we are going to take a look at some of the functionality that comes with Battlefield 4. One of the main features that Kinect 2.0 brings to Battlefield 4 on the Xbox One is voice commands, enabling players to quickly make adjustments in the game without having to press a whole load of buttons.
The speech recognition capability of the Kinect 2.0 works without speaking into the microphone meaning you can say your command out load and the game should respond to your order. The feature allows players to customize numerous features and dictate the course of the game, simply by calling out set phrases such as “engage”, “deploy” or “next time spawn as engineer”.
Another particular interesting feature is the lean option which tracks your body movements during the game and transfers them to your soldier on the battlefield. Players are able to quickly adjust their position for strategic advantage, the downside being that Kinect 2.0 may pick up unwanted movements like shuffling in your seat. The feature is very responsive and could be useful if you feel the need for it.
So far the gaming community seems rather split on the Kinect 2.0 features with some enjoying the extra functionality and others not seeing the point. Some highlighted that they would rather see the game put more of its effort into the core features that people originally buy Battlefield for.
