Samsung Galaxy S3, S4 Android 4.3 JB update revived

Galaxy S4 owners have been waiting in anticipation as to when they will be getting the Android 4.4 KitKat update, but that is not going to happen until early next year. However, before then some Galaxy S3 and S4 owners are seeing another version of the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update.

AT&T already confirmed that Jelly Bean has been revived once again due to stability issues with certain Samsung Galaxy handsets, and it hasn’t taken long for the JB update to make its way across the pond and hit European shores, such as France, Germany and the UK.

When the original Android 4.3 JB update was released it caused several Samsung Galaxy S3 and S4 owners to complain about several issues, one of which was in regard to its stability.

The decision was then taken to pull the 4.3 update, which meant owners had to play the waiting game. SamMobile has learned from a German website that the update build number is I9505XXUEMKE and started to roll out a few days ago.

We have yet to hear from our readers if this update is a stable one and if they are happy that they can finally enjoy the new enhancements of Jelly Bean 4.3.

Nervous whether to get the update or not. After reading what other S3 owners have tackled with the previous 4.3 update, I’m scared to go through with the update….. we still don’t know if this “fixed” Jelly Bean 4.3 is 100% usable!

ive been using it on the S4 have had no problems with it to be honest not sure what stability issues people are experiencing but mines actually become faster with the update

I updated my gs3, I hate Knox so I rooted and disabled it. So far so good though, I like the new firmware…BUT if you want to root don’t update its a pain to get it rooted correctly.

I updated 3 days ago on my galaxy s3 and only experienced one issue and that was my downloads appearing over and over but I just cleared the download list and solved the problem. Other than that the phone takes a few seconds to respond when waking up from stand by, everything else is smoother than before

I updated mine when it came out and it messed my phone up. I didn’t know about the problems otherwise I wouldn’t have done it. Phone takes a while to come on after standby. Sometimes it doesn’t work so I have to take the battery out. When I come out of standby I get notification of several apps not responding. Sometimes I can’t answer the phone because the screen doesn’t respond. Alarm didn’t work once so I was late to work. So yeah a lot of problems. Thanks Samsung

I have the new update for the s4 on AT&T, and after waiting for what seemed like forever I have experienced no problems, or should I say I haven’t yet. The galaxy gear work great also. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

I received the 4.3 update on my T-Mobile S4 a couple days ago. I have not experienced any problems with the update so far. Actually I really like it. Especially the app to SD update and the galaxy gear update. I’m a happy camper…

    I installed the update on my AT&T Galaxy S3 a few days ago… Here’s what I experienced.
    1) For some reason the phone started the camera flash when the phone rang. I finally got this to stop by going into the accessibility options and turned the flash notification ON, saving the setting and then going back into accessibility and turning the option back off.

    2) All of my custom ringtones for my contacts vanished. My ringtones were still on my SD card, but I had to go into each contact and add their ringtone.

    3) The same dozen or so files I had download months ago kept showing up in the notification bar. I would clear it and they would come right back. This was a common problem from what I can tell. I fixed this by going into application manager and opening download manager and clearing the data cache.

    4) my phone tends to lag now when I’m typing. I never had this issue before.
