The likes of HP and Acer have embraced the touchscreen functions of Windows 8, and so have students because they seem to be the target audience with these type laptops. The Aspire V5-122P Touch laptop is a fine example of this because it has the right balance of specs and more importantly, price.

What home users and students are drawn to are the above average specs of an AMD Dual-Core A4 processor, 500GB hard drive, 4GB of RAM, an integrated 720p HD webcam, memory card reader, free upgrade to Windows 8.1, preloaded with Microsoft Office Home & Student and 3.5 hours of battery life.

We understand that there is better out there, but when you take the Acer V5-122P-0889 11.6-inch laptop features and a price that starts at just $248 at some retailers into consideration, you have to be tempted by the balance of the two.

Even though this laptop has an 11.6-inch screen, thanks to a clever design you still have the use of a full-size keyboard, giving you the best of both worlds, which is portability and practicality.

Having said that, there does seem to be a mixed review for the Acer V5-122P-0889 11.6″ Touch laptop because some owners have complained that the laptop is unable to open powerpoints and other such work, although this is not an issue experienced by most owners.

What is your overall impression of the Acer V5-122P-0889 laptop?

I like mine. However the price of the touchscreen model that you mentioned, is $498 USD, not 239. Decent little machine too, for the 5-bills.
