PS4 review reaction from Sony’s Jack Tretton

By Updated on

The countdown is on until the glorious launch of the PS4 on Friday. PS4 reviews have already gone live of course, both for hardware and software. As a result, we’re now pleased to bring you some reaction from Sony themselves, with CEO Jack Tretton giving a recent interview on how he thinks the reviews have been received.

It was only earlier today that we told you about some troubling reviews for the likes of Killzone Shadow Fall and Knack, two games which obviously looked very promising in the build-up to launch.

As the debate continues on that through the link above, Mr Tretton has decided to focus on the positives, stating that this is the biggest PlayStation launch that Sony has ever had. Stock levels are at a very healthy status according to the CEO, meaning that most consumers should have no problems picking up a console from retailers if they have yet to pre-order.

This interview with IGN is a great watch, and we have to say that some fantastic questions were asked too from Greg Miller. When asked specifically on his reaction to the hardware and software reviews that have already gone live, this was Jack Tretton’s response:

“It’s my fourth platform launch, I’ve never felt better. We knew we had the machine, we knew we had the developing community behind us, we knew we had the gamer behind us.” He goes on to say “23 unbelievable games getting great reviews for the platform and for the game, I’m very very excited.”

The good thing about Jack Tretton, is although he is perceived as being a ‘suit’, he always carries an element of humor in his interviews – which is somewhat rare for CEO’s nowadays who are usually strictly all business.

Jack Tretton seems to relate to the gamers compared to other execs, which is why perhaps some consumers have been won over by Sony’s gradual PS4 marketing bandwagon. Although some of the reviews may not be getting great reviews as he mentions, it’s still a great interview which we think you’ll enjoy.
