In a direct Nook HD 7 Vs Nexus 7 specs battle, we would have to say that the Nexus 7 from Google is a lot more favorable. Reasons for this include the Nexus 7 having a quad-core processor compared to the Nook HD which only features a Dual core 1300 MHz ARM Cortex-A9 chip.

If you want to buy either tablet for gaming purposes, you’ll also find the Nexus 7 is more worthwhile as well, due to the inclusion of a powerful quad-core Tegra 3 chip. Customization on the Nexus 7 is a lot more versatile as well, with users able to update the Nexus 7 all the way up to Android 4.4 Kit Kat, while the Nook HD ships with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

At $79 on black friday, I’m going to go with the Nook HD for gifts. I already own one and the processor seems perfectly fine for what I do (everything but extreme gaming). I don’t need a camera on a tablet. My phone has a better camera than most tablets on the market. Nook also has expandable memory (up to a 64GB MicroSD card).
