If you are a Sky customer in the UK and currently have an iOS tablet, then you would already be able to enjoy the Sky Go app. However, if you have an Android tablet, then like so many other apps, you have been left out in the cold with no release date in sight.
Well, that is about to change because the Sky Go app release date for Android tablets has been nailed. You don’t have that much longer to wait either, as the new app will be released on Decembe 3rd. Okay, so that is still another 3 weeks, but we are sure you can hold out that long seeing as though you have waited so long already.
In order for the Sky Go app to work you will need to have Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and above. Speaking of Android, the Nexus 7 and 10 have received the 4.4 KitKat OTA today.
There is some limitations to the Sky Go for Android tablets, as it will not be able to work on the Asus Transformer TF101. What’s even worse is that no Amazon Kindle Fire tablets will be able to support the app either – not even the HDX.
Why do you think Android users have had to wait so long for the Sky Go app, and do you think it is a kick in the teeth for the Kindle Fire not to have support for this app?
