Some of you might think it is silly to download an update for something, even though that device has yet to be released to the public. However, with the popularity of the new PS4 and the need to have the most up-to-date firmware version, there is certain to be huge server issues.
It is for this very reason why you can now download PS4 update 1.50 today, as this is a preemptive measure to help avoid problems. Okay, so we know there will still be a few issues downloading the update, but at least you have time to get it downloaded, as the PlayStation 4 will not be released until tomorrow in the US.
Download PS4 update 1.50 by region – Here are the download files for the US, EU, Japan and Australia. Some of you might not want to go down this route for the latest PS4 firmware because this is the same procedure as you have to perform when replacing your hard drive.
Having said that, some of you might like the idea of a clean install and so would rather do it. We think it is a small price to pay because imagine how frustrating it would be to try and use all the PlayStation 4 features only to find you are unable to because you are still waiting for the firmware update to complete?
Product Reviews readers have already been in contact with us to say what a good idea this as, as it allows them to “beat the rush,” and others saying “imagine downloading the update at the same time as thousands of others?”
Like we said, we still expect servers to slow down today, but it doesn’t matter if you have to wait hours, as you won’t have your PS4 until tomorrow.
