We have some good news for those planning to pick up the PS4 version of Call of Duty Ghosts. This week we told you about some PS4 reviews for the game which mentioned poor frame rate compared to the Xbox One version.
At the time we also mentioned that while frame rate was dropping on the PS4 version, Infinity Ward were already aware of it and were planning to introduce a patch at launch to correct the problem. Now, we’re pleased to give you an update on this.
Infinity Ward has revealed that the game will receive a day-one update to boost the resolution of COD Ghosts single-player on PS4 from 720p to 1080p native. Without the update you’ll be playing through the campaign mode with 720p like on Xbox One, but this update offers a significant boost for those getting the PS4 version instead.
The news was confirmed to Eurogamer, with Infinity Ward putting the initial issue down to a configuration problem. The question is though: Will it fix these apparent frame rate problems that critics have warned us about on PS4?
At least we only have hours to wait until we get the answer on that. The clock is ticking for the PS4 official launch window and we can’t wait. If you already have the PS4 version of COD Ghosts on order – give us your reaction to this piece of news.
Are you pleasantly surprised that you can now play through single-player in 1080p native, just like multiplayer?
