Battlefield 4 update on PS3, Xbox 360 to solve problems

By Alan Ng - Nov 13, 2013

We have some good news for console players of Battlefield 4 now. DICE is now ready to deploy a new Battlefield 4 update on Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms. If you have been having issues when trying to get into a game, hopefully this latest update will make your experience a lot smoother.

This update is specifically for console players, so those playing on PC who are looking for a fresh patch will have to hold on a little while longer. DICE has sent out confirmation via Battlelog that the update will be going live sometime today on both consoles.

Key changes reference the “Indirect Fire” and “Perimeter Defense” Field Upgrades on PS3. These upgrades have now been disabled on PS3 in order to prevent the game from crashing when players spawn. It had been a problem ever since the game launched on PS3, but DICE says that they are still working on a permanent fix to this.

Other areas changed include lowered damage for the Mobile AA Active Radar missiles to aircraft, on both consoles. DICE has said that the damage was set too high incorrectly, so players who previously had a problem with this should be pleased.

Finally, the developer has mentioned improvements to general server crash reporting on both platforms, allowing them to correctly identify problems and issue updates more efficiently. Hopefully this will improve your playing experience on PS3, Xbox 360 – so let us know how you get on below.

Are there any other major problems with Battlefield 4 on console, that hasn’t been highlighted by DICE yet?
