Minecraft for PS3 and PS4 development update

By Updated on

For years PC gamers have been enjoying the ever-popular Minecraft, and it wasn’t that long ago that Xbox owners got to see what all the fuss was about. As you would imagine, PS3 owners were not happy when they told they would be waiting a while longer before they too were able to join in the fun.

For those of you who have waiting patiently for Minecraft for the PS3 will be happy in the knowledge that 4J Studios shared on Twitter that they are well into development of the PlayStation 3 version, and that its release date is very close.

However, they also offered an update on the PS4 version by saying that it will not be a launch title and that there could be a long wait. This would mean the development team are putting all the effort into getting the PS3 version of Minecraft out the door first, and only once it has been released can they work on the PlayStation 4 version.

We do know that both the PS3 and PS4 versions of Minecraft will be almost identical to the Xbox 360 version. As for the Xbox Once version, 4J Studios has yet to offer any details on this.
