We have some important news for those planning to buy Call of Duty Ghosts on PS3 or Xbox 360. You may not have know this, but Infinity Ward has reduced the player count for online multiplayer. Rather than 18 players which we are used to, Call of Duty Ghosts on current-gen is instead only going to have support for 12 players.
Infinity Ward sure kept this a little quiet didn’t they? But now it has been confirmed as a fact on both the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game. If anything though, some gamers may have expected a bigger player count given the advances in technology, but Infinity Ward are actually reducing the number of players online – should this be deemed as acceptable or should we making a bigger deal about this?

Online multiplayer for 2-12 is listed there in black and white and it is the same situation for the PS3 version as well, confirmed by the back of PS3 cases for those that have received early copies.
While we’re sure that 12 player online multiplayer is still going to be amazing, it’s hard to defend why Infinity Ward couldn’t have made this much more transparent with their fan base. We all know that the next-gen PS4 and Xbox One versions are a lot more desirable, but surely this isn’t the best way to make players contemplate the switch over.
