Last year saw Asda and Tesco include a countdown timer for Black Ops 2 on their websites, which they have failed to do for Call of Duty Ghosts for this year. It is like these supermarkets are not making a huge deal out of this game, but then they are not with Battlefield 4, which is to be released tomorrow in the UK.
Having said that, we suspect both Asda and Tesco will have a midnight release for Battlefield 4, just as they do with certain titles. Last year saw a dedicated Black Ops 2 stand near the entrance, but we are not sure if this will be the case with BF4 at midnight.
We do know that many Asda and Tesco stores open at midnight anyway, so there is a good chance most of them will allow you to purchase Battlefield 4 as the clock turns to midnight. And if you are lucky, then some of them will have a special stand, but as yet we have no confirmation of this.
It is a bit of a kick in the teeth that both these supermarkets do not have any details on their websites in regard to special midnight launch events for Battlefield 4, as it says to fans of that franchise that the title is not as important as Call of Duty Ghosts, as we already know there are events planned. What shocks us more is that there was a midnight launch for FIFA 14 advertised for Asda and Tesco, so why not Battlefield 4?
Having been on hold to Tesco for more than 20 minutes, we gave up, but we have to hope that some stores will release Battlefield 4 at midnight. Failing that, we can tell you that there will be a Battlefield 4 midnight release at Game UK stores.
