PS4 DualShock 4 works with Xbox 360 as well

By Updated on

Here’s a surprising piece of information that you wouldn’t have expected to find out in the build up to the PS4 and Xbox One launch dates. The PS4 DualShock 4 controller has already been confirmed to be working with PC games, but now a video has emerged claiming that the new pad will even work on Microsoft’s Xbox 360 console.

You heard that correctly – you may be able to control the Xbox 360 using a spanking new PS4 DualShock 4 controller. That is what we are led to believe anyway by a new video that has surfaced online. The PS4 console doesn’t go on sale until November 15, but Sony has decided to start shipping the actual DualShock 4 controllers earlier than schedule.

Watch the video to see it for yourself. You can witness clear evidence of the Xbox One dashboard being navigated fully, using the triggers. We then see the D-pad and buttons in action when demonstrated on Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

What the author has said though, is that there appears to be some issues getting the PS4 analogue sticks working 100% with the Xbox 360, as it only ‘partially’ works at the moment. The improvements are ongoing states YouTuber RageBeefSA, so this could be fixed up in just days.

Are you impressed by this? How many of you would actually prefer to navigate through the Xbox 360 menus using a DualShock 4 controller instead of the Xbox 360 pad? It will be interesting to see what Sony thinks of this and whether they could use this as some kind of naughty pre-PS4 marketing in their favor.

Presuming this is all legit and ends up working 100%, would you use the PS4 pad to control your Xbox 360?
