Nvidia Shield update for Android 4.3 and games

By Updated on

If you have been asking yourself what is taking so long for the next Nvidia Shield update, then you can stop asking because the game console with a controller design has now been updated to Android 4.3. This means that you will now have access to thousands more games on the Android platform.

The new Nvidia Shield features thanks to Android 4.3 Jelly Bean are extensive, such as the new Console Mode, which allows you to turn Shield into a portable games console for the living room. Another awesome feature is NVIDIA GameStream, previously PC streaming, has now been launched.

Nvidia Shield has had access to the huge library of games on the Google Play Store, but these games could not make use of Shield’s touchscreen capabilities, that is until now. It is these little things that help to make the small portable console device a much better system all-round.

Going back to the GameStream feature, NVIDIA will be offering up to $100 off SHIELD, as well as free copies of some of the latest games on the market, such as Assassin’s Creed 4, Splinter Cell: Blacklist and also Batman Arkham Origins.

Overall, this seems like an impressive update, but we would like to know your thoughts? It is the hope that these new features will help keep you going until the NVIDIA Shield 2nd-gen is released, although it is still in the development stage.
