This is the day most of you have been waiting a very long time to arrive. The Battlefield 4 release date is now upon us and millions of gamers worldwide now have the opportunity to take to the Siege of Shanghai and participate in gameplay that is unrivalled anywhere else.
However, for those that have managed to pick up an early copy which is always inevitable, we are hearing one or two early complaints. It has been confirmed that the Battlefield 4 campaign mode only lasts about four hours in length, prompting some to question whether the game is worth its $60 retail price.
This estimated 4 hour play-through is split between a total number of just 7 missions in the game. We all know that Battlefield 4 is predominantly based around its multiplayer experience now and many will be buying the game solely to play MP, but is 4 hours a bit on the short side?
A four hour story length obviously isn’t going to last very long and some of you may be left feeling shortchanged if you expected something in the region of 10 hours. Then again, some of you actually like a short campaign for a first-person shooter game, so it’s all a matter of preference on this one we feel.

Personally, we enjoy a good story mode. We may enjoy multiplayer a lot more in the long run, but that doesn’t mean to say that we shouldn’t deserve not to have an equally as satisfying campaign mode. As the Battlefield 4 reviews start to drop, don’t be surprised if some of the negative points on the game also pick up on this.
Do you have Battlefield 4 already? If so, let us know if you think the campaign is too short, or if 4 hours is a perfectly acceptable duration.
