The UK is no stranger to supermarket price wars, as several years ago we saw items like, bread, beans and sugar all at ultra-low prices. You might wonder why we would be discussing this subject on this website; well it seems as though you could be in for a good Christmas if you are in the market for a tablet, as we have seen prices falling.
Tesco released what they thought would be a real winner with its customers, the Hudl tablet for £129, but Carphone Warehouse does not want the supermarket giant to have it all their own way and as such has now reduced the Avoca 7 tablet to £49.
We had assumed that the Argos MyTablet tablet was cheap at £99, but clearly not. Carphone Warehouse is very clever because having such a cheap tablet will bring customers into stores and could even persuade them to go with a better tablet, a new phone or accessories to go with these mobile devices – they could even sell a few mobile contracts while they are at it.
Avoca 7 tablet vs. Tesco Hudl – It is all very well having such a budget laptop, but how will it compare to rival devices. It is for this reason why we are looking at the specs of these two tablets, as they are in competition with each other.
The Avoca 7 specs are not that impressive with its 800 x 480 resolution, 1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM, 8GB storage and a 0.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Compare this two the Tesco Hudl tablet specs, which include 1,440 x 900 screen resolution, 1.5GHZ quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB storage and 3-megapixel rear and 2-megapixel front-facing cameras.
Do you think it will be too much of a compromise to go for the cheaper tablet?
