If you are looking for an alternative to the iPad Air that is set to go on sale on November 1, a mystery tablet by HP running Android OS may be a great option for you. Consumers are set to embark on their annual shopping sprees during the 2013 Holiday season, and HP could have a few tricks up their sleeve with regards to providing adequate competition for those that are after something different.
The iPad Air is expected to sell in the thousands, probably just because of the ‘Air’ name attached to it more than anything. The new model looked fantastic on stage during Apple’s recent event, but obviously many consumers would still prefer to pick up an Android tablet every time.
With this in mind, you may want to be reminded that HP has a secret tablet project in the works. We eluded to this fact in a previous report here, detailing a 10-inch tablet that will feature a 6,760mAh battery, dual cameras, SIM card support and microSD card slot.
We know that this tablet is going to run on Android OS thanks to an FCC leak, but we don’t know if HP’s new tablet will hit the US and UK markets with Android 4.4 Kitkat. If it does and comes with a top range processor, then we could be looking at a device that will provide a great alternative to the iPad Air and indeed any new Nexus tablets that Google plan to bombard us with soon.
HP has been quietly going about their business lately, but there’s no denying that their tablet range offers a solid experience for very reasonable prices. The big question though: Would you be interested in buying one ahead of the iPad Air or new Nexus tablets?
