Android 4.4 KitKat features TV user experience

By Updated on

The mobile OS market is now much tougher than it was several years ago because the features they offered were very basic. However, now that the smartphone market is what it is, there is an insatiable need to want more, and so the likes of Android, iOS, Windows Phone and BlackBerry have to try to bring more unique features to make our every day lives easier.

The latest update was iOS 7 from Apple, and while we have seen some great improvements, there is no denying that Android seems to offer these features long before. This is the hope with the Android 4.4 KitKat release, and from what we have seen so far, the upcoming version of this mobile OS has great potential.

One of the most recent Android 4.4 KitKat features to be discussed is by improving the TV user experience, much like iOS and Apple TV in that respect. We know that Google is to rebrand its TV inspired range with the Android name instead, which makes perfect sense.

It also makes perfect sense that Android TV will have deep integration with KitKat, and as such the interface between the Android OS and Android TV will see a great deal of changes, all of which will make for a happier user experience.

Having deeper integration and sharing the same name as its mobile OS should make Google a more dominate force in the TV market like Apple has become over the years.

Google has yet to detail what these changes will entail, come to that, we still do not have an official release date for Android 4.4 KitKat, but it has to be soon, as the Nexus 5 should be unveiled soon, as will the new Nexus 10 for 2013.
