The rumors in regard to the Nexus 5 are certainly coming thick and fast now, this is because there are two possible dates kicking around, October 26 and 31. Either can be taken as the date Google could unveil its latest Android handset, or today could be the big unveil and the latter could be its release date.

We highly doubt that Google would release the Nexus 5 without a huge event, and so that puts October 26 out of the running, as we would have known about it already. Having said that, if it was going to be October 31, surely event invites would have been sent out already, although with 6 days to go, there is still time?

Over the past few days we have seen a couple of Nexus 5 accessories appear online, such as cases and its battery. This reinforces that the release date for the next Android handset is looming, but it doesn’t nail it down just yet.

However, what these accessories do is show to us the highly likely final design of the Nexus 5, as well as its potential battery life.

Below you will see a video review of two Nexus 5 cases from Spigen, which are now on sale on Amazon. Seeing these cases in the video review does give us a good idea of the size when compared to the likes of the iPhone 5S, Galaxy S4, Note 3 and its predecessor, the Nexus 4.

One of the most talked about rumors of the Nexus 5 after its design are those all-important specs, and a leaked image of the 2300mAh battery could be the first real proof of its hardware. We are sure there are some clever people out there who would be able to take the size of the battery and then calculate how long it will be able to power the Nexus 5 going by the most recent spec rumors. Sadly, we are not that clever, but we are certain it will outperform its predecessor.

We do hope that seeing these two accessories will mean the official Nexus 5 release date draws ever closer, and let us hope its price is as competitive as the Nexus 4 was when it was released last year.
