It was previously thought that the new Galaxy Gear would only be compatible with the Galaxy Note 3. The Galaxy Gear is a smartwatch that allows an individual via their Galaxy Note 3 to check updates on their watch in conjunction with their device and will run Android 4.0. Samsung to the delight of their many users has now decided to expand upon the devices it will now be compatible with.
The Galaxy Gear will now be compatible with Galaxy S4, as well as the Galaxy S III and the Galaxy Note II via an Android 4.3 update. These are of course the big device announcements, but Samsung are also looking to roll out this technology to the Galaxy S4 Mini, S4 Active, Mega 5.8, Mega 6.3, and Galaxy S4 Zoom.
This technology will be released as an update by the end of October. Of course this comes with a caveat; the updates will probably be released at different times in different countries and will probably be unveiled on their flagship devices first, according engadget.
