Users of Microsoft’s Surface RT will be glad to hear that Microsoft has released a fix after numerous complaints were issued once Microsoft users updated to Windows RT 8.1 and found their machine unusable. This embarrassing set of circumstances would see the Surface RT display a boot configuration errors, which led many users to experience a blue screen with a start-up error. Microsoft has consequently pulled the Windows RT 8.1 from their website amidst the controversy.

If your Surface RT is bricked, it is now possible to recover and make your machine workable with the new update. The user will need to download the recovery images from the Microsoft’s Website onto another PC or laptop. You will then need to create a recovery drive and have a USB drive with at least 4GB of storage. The download contains a PDF file that will give the user an in-depth guide to recover the Surface RT and make it functional again.
