At the start of the month, we told you that a new iPad 5 device, as well as the 2nd generation iPad Mini 2 was coming, thanks to a report published by AllThingsD. Since then we have heard a lot of new rumors to back up these claims further, but now we have the final nail in the coffin with another massive source now claiming this as fact as well.
Unsurprisingly, but perhaps rather later than expected – the Wall Street Street has now chimed in with their own theories on the upcoming reveal. Just like AllThingsD, they have gone on record to say that both the iPad 5 and iPad Mini 2 are real and that they will be unveiled on October 22.
As we talked about over the weekend, we hear further strength behind the inevitability of Apple finally adding a Retina display into the iPad Mini 2 – a firm request from fans ever since the iPad Mini launched. Most of you already knew it though, but it’s always nice hearing this from the WSJ.
We also hear once more about a thinner iPad 5 coming, which almost feels like a foregone conclusion now – always giving us the impression that poor Tim Cook won’t have anything left to announce as a surprise on stage.
This always happens very year though, so it’s business as usual. As we await the countdown to Apple iPad 5 and Mini 2 event, we think you will find the following visual countdown live. This provides you with the official countdown to the Apple event, reminding you once again that the action will kick off at 10am Pacific Time at October 22.
Are you getting excited about the countdown to Apple’s event tomorrow? Let us know if you have a problem knowing almost every aspect of the event, before it happens live on stage – do you miss the surprise element?
