PS Vita 2000 Vs PS Vita in video review

By Updated on

If you are planning to import the recently released PS Vita 2000 which has just hit Japanese shores, you’ll be very interested in a new PS Vita 2000 Vs PS Vita review that we have picked out for you on YouTube. We all know that the PS Vita 2000 is thinner and lighter, but how does other areas shape up against the original OLED model?

Unfortunately, Sony has given no indication as of yet on whether the newer 2000 series will be making its way over to the US and UK. It would be a major surprise if it didn’t given the western interest seen so far, but Sony calls the shots of course and we’re guessing that they are holding out until some Japan sales figures come in first.

The PS Vita 2000 is significantly different to the original model, not only because it features a lighter and thinner frame, but also because Sony has opted to use an LCD-based display, rather than the higher quality OLED display inside the old version.

There’s also differences with storage, as the 2000 model features 1GB of internal memory this time around, compared to the PS Vita which doesn’t have internal memory – both systems can obviously make use of PS Vita memory cards up to 64GB though.

Another feature that was recently confirmed was in relation to the new Micro USB port on the PS Vita slim. Sony has confirmed that you can charge the new Vita using any standard Micro USB port, which is great news as you probably have more than a few cables lying around due to smartphone usage.

Personally, display quality is very important to us so we still prefer using the OLED-based display, despite the obvious weight differences that are now in effect. Watch the video review above though and let us know if you are tempted to import one over from Asia.

He’s smart handling a device with cotton gloves on…There are now micro scratches ALL over the surface of both PS Vita devices. He would have been better off with no gloves. What an idiot.
