Today, we can bring you some information direct from the Nintendo president himself, mr Satoru Iwata. He has provided a lighthearted Q&A section on the Nintendo website, where he asks questions about the game to none other than producer Ishihara-san and director Masuda-san.
It looks to be a section of the site that Iwata will update regularly, but for this particular episode he has focused his questions on the new Sky battles and Horde Encounter features of Pokemon X and Y.
Sky Battles are set to shake up the Pokemon battle dynamic in X and Y in a big way, with players now having to choose teams wisely on which Pokemon will be eligible to take part. We all know that flying types will have the ability to compete, but for those that are not aware, Iwata has reconfirmed with the developers that some Ghost types will be able to compete in Sky Battles as well.
We’re guessing that this means the likes of Mega Gengar who has only just been recently confirmed for the game will be eligible and who knows – maybe even the magical, but mystical steel ghost Pokemon Honedge will be able to fight in Sky battles as well.
If you enjoy reading about the tactical nature of Pokemon X and Y gameplay, it’s a good idea to read through the whole dialog between Iwata and the developers here. Let us know your thoughts on the upcoming Sky Battles feature in the game and which Pokemon you plan to send into aerial battle.
