As the world waits patiently for the highly anticipated new Zelda game from Wii U, Nintendo has kept fans waiting with the most excellent of alternatives – coming in the form of The Wind Waker HD which has just been released to fantastic reviews from critics and gamers alike.
This week, we have a progress report on the game from producer Eiji Aonuma, but more importantly we wanted to gage your thoughts on the long development time for the game and whether you are willing to wait as long as it takes.
With Wind Waker HD now released and A Link Between Worlds due out on 3DS in November, it now leaves the team to focus solely on the Wii U game and hopefully, it means full steam ahead as far as fans are concerned.
Earlier this week we had the surprising news that Wind Waker HD was developed in just six months – a staggering amount of short time considering the length that some other developers take to bring out HD remakes of games – just look at Final Fantasy X HD as a prime example.
Wind Waker HD is by no means a ‘rush job’ either. Critics have been saying that it is the best HD remake released in years and if they could manage that in just six months, what does it mean for the Wii U Zelda.
Six months of full concentration on the Wii U game could mean that we’ll see a surprise release date at the end of 2014 for the game. There had been rumors that 2015 could be the year when we’ll see Zelda, but let’s hope that isn’t the case.
Either way, we think that you should be very confident that the game is going to be well worth the wait. Give us your thoughts on the six month development time for Wind Waker HD and how you think they could plan that amount of time with the Wii U game.
