Unless you have been living under a rock for the last eight months, Google has announced the future of mobile tech, the Glass. The Glass is an integrated pair of glass, which is capable of snapping pictures, browsing the web, conducting phone calls, sending text messages – does the bare essential functionalities of a smartphone. The project is currently under development – beta -, meaning that specific people solely can have access to it.
On the other side of the Pacific, in South Korea, it appears that Samsung is manufacturing an identical device, under the name Gear Glass. The name is obviously based on the company’s recent announced advent into the wearable tech, the Galaxy Gear smartwatch.
The rumor has been leaked by Eldar Murtazin, editor-in-chief of Russian headquartered technology site Mobile-Review.com. Murtazin stated in his tweet that the gadget will be announced during spring of the consecutive year and that it is going to be called under the name mentioned above.
Samsung developing own version of Google Glass. We will see it (probably) around april-may under Gear Glass brand

Of course, with the intel we have at hand we cannot say much. Nobody can confirm Murtazin tweets, thus it could just be a rumor that will be eventually vanished from the webs. From my standpoint though, the Gear Glass is a plausible scenario, since it is widely known that the company strives to make waves in various product lines. If we keep seeing the project dominating the rumor mills, it will indicate that the product launch is indeed potential. Let’s be patient.
