We have some more feedback to bring you now from the Battlefield 4 beta, which is still live on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. There has been a lot of debate on the graphics quality of the Xbox 360, which is why we have decided to focus on this version and bring you over one hour of pure gameplay.
It is no secret that the graphics on the Xbox 360 version of the game are not perfect. Even the PS3 version by comparison isn’t great, but the drop in quality is evident for all to see when simply comparing the same elements of Siege of Shanghai when playing the PC beta.
For those that are yet to see what they are in for on the final version, we’re happy to share over one hour of Xbox 360 beta footage, courtesy of Eurogamer. The site has provided a live stream over on YouTube, giving you an unedited preview of the game and included commentary from the host.
We’ve heard a lot of gamers state on how the graphics basically look the same as BF3 and you wouldn’t disagree too much with that statement after watching a good portion of the footage above. Some textures are not too easy on the eye, while those that really examine close-up should be able to see significant pop-in issues during certain areas of the map, while the console catches up to the rendering speed.
Having said that, it still plays and looks like a great experience, purely from a gameplay point of view. It’s still a brand new Battlefield running on the same Xbox 360 hardware, so perhaps DICE should be commended for that.
If you are planning on skipping the Xbox One version and will settle for the Xbox 360 instead, we highly recommend you take a good look at the gameplay above. Let us know your experiences with the Xbox 360 version and what you plan to do nearing release.
