Those of you looking for an iOS 7 untethered jailbreak for your iPhone 4S, 5 or newer 5C and 5S will have mixed feelings this week. Twitter is always a great place to start if you want to find out the facts about any iOS 7 jailbreak and untethered possibilities for your device, and one user that is normally willing to deliver small details is Planetbeing.
One of the latest updates came just a few days ago, and Planetbeing shared the message in the screenshot below. Basically, those in the know are “working hard” on the iOS 7 jailbreak and “may have” all the pieces to this puzzle but they warn followers this is still not certain.
So, it is clear that key players are making good progress creating an iOS 7 jailbreak for iPhone 5S and other models, but the release date might not be what some people think. We have already heard a number of Product Reviews readers state, “Take your time on jailbreaking iOS 7”, but others can’t help checking everyday for an update and feel impatient.
It is also true that some people desire to own an iPhone 5S but love freedom to install certain apps not available on iTunes, so they are waiting until there’s a jailbreak for both iOS 7 and iPhone 5S/5C.
Look to early 2014 for an iOS 7 jailbreak – while no timeline has been given by Planetbeing or any of the Dev Team, you should consider the iOS 6 jailbreak and how tough it was. With this in-mind, you should look to early next year for a release date and if you expect an iOS 7 jailbreak any sooner from this team then you might be disappointed.
There are reports of the iPhone 4 receiving an iOS 7 jailbreak, but this is a tethered rather than untethered release and on much older hardware. You also won’t need to look far to find articles stating how fresh iOS 7 is, but at the same time it’s not like a jailbreak. Do you desire an iOS 7 untethered jailbreak, and if so what model iPhone would you like to see this available on?
There will be an iOS 7 jailbreak – we have seen a few articles published this week claiming that there might never be an iOS 7 jailbreak for iPhone or iPad. We just want to say that this is complete rubbish in our opinion, and these articles base their claims on the lack of an iOS 6.1.3/4 jailbreak. The very reason the teams didn’t care about jailbreaking that version is thanks to it being too minor, and instead their efforts are now focused on iOS 7 but users will just need to be patient.
