As most of you will be well aware, the highly anticipated Battlefield 4 beta is now live on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC. The trial features gameplay opportunities on the Siege of Shanghai map, the same level that we have been seeing over and over these last few months and the same stage which features the epic building destruction shown at E3.
With the beta now available to the public, it also means that gameplay videos showing the beta on all three platforms is being uploaded to YouTube by the instant. However, not all are in praise of the beta as we’ve found one notable video which actually picks apart the Xbox 360 version.
Gamers and critics are starting to discover that there are significant graphical differences between the Xbox 360 and PC version. Naturally it is the PC version that EA has been showing off all Summer, but now the truth is out there on just how different Battlefield 4 looks on current-gen hardware.
One such video comes from Videogamer, as they have compared visuals with the beta on Xbox 360 just released. They pick apart the same gameplay scenes on the PC version as well for comparison, letting you get an exact idea of the visual content that has been cut away.
In fairness, the building destruction still looks very good on Xbox 360 compared to PC, but you only need to look at the water effects on Xbox 360 to see that DICE had to make some significant compromises in order to get the game running on Xbox 360.
Is the early criticism justified though? We’ve also seen some positive comments from Xbox 360 users who are having no problems with the graphics and are just happy that Battlefield 4 can even run on the Xbox 360 hardware as it is.
This video doesn’t lie though. Watch it and let us know how big a deal the graphics differences are to you. Are you still planning to pick up the Xbox 360 version of the game after playing the beta or not?
