While we do not know the overall iPad mini 2 dimensions, we are almost certain they will be the same as the current model. This is because people have been happy with the size and weight of the smaller iPad, and are more concerned with the internals instead.
When the current iPad mini first came onto the market sales were rather impressive, but since then there has been an influx of 7-inch tablets, and so sales have taken a bit of a dive. Microsoft also understands the importance of smaller tablets, and as such has pretty much acknowledged a smaller Surface device will be released.
Our best bet would be later this year, or early in 2014. With this in mind one has to wonder what Apple plans to do because they not only have to fight off Android tablets, but also Windows as well? With the Surface RT not doing so good, and also Surface Pro sales not being as good, Apple will hope Microsoft’s newest range of Surface tablets will also suffer the same fate.
iPad mini 2 magnetic keyboard case, would you buy it? With what we discussed above, we wonder if Apple would try to take advantage of this and offer an official iPad mini 2 keyboard case? We know there are several third-party options, with one available on the Apple Store, but an official one could be a good option.
The current keyboard cases certainly help improve productivity, but an Apple branded one would be designed to work in perfect harmony with the iPad mini 2, much like the Type or Touch Covers for Surface tablets from Microsoft.
One concern we would have is with the price of such a keyboard case because we know you have to pay a premium for Apple accessories, although some people are willing to pay extra, just like they would do for the new iPad 2.
