It is almost a known fact that Apple will hold an event in October (possibly the 15th) and could show off their new iPad range. However, it seems the same strained manufacturing volumes as the iPhone 5S could hit iOS tablets as well.

If what is being reported it true, then we would not bet on those of you wishing to upgrade being very happy because the latest iPad 5 and Mini 2 shipping forecast prediction shows they will not release at the same time, much like their new iPhones and so could be a staggered release.

CNET has learned that IHS iSuppli’s supply chain for the iPad 5 is looking good for an October release, but the iPad mini 2 is having a few production issues and so shipping might need to be delayed until they can increase production numbers.

This isn’t the first time we have heard such rumors, but to hear them so close to the Apple iPad event next month is a little worrying because we assumed these issues were behind them. It does make us laugh because Apple has had a huge amount of time to set things in motion, unless development took longer than expected – maybe a few last minute adjustments were made to make them compete more in a market that is much tougher in 2013?

These iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 supply constraints could be scare mongering because we know how often analysts get things wrong. However, they also said the same with the iPhone 5C and iPhone 5S, and we have already seen first hand how supplies are strained.

We will know more next month once Apple reveals their new iPads, such as possible new colors, but don’t expect a larger iPad this year. There could also be the rumored Haswell MacBook Pro, the Mac Pro and possibly a host of other devices.
