Martian Passport vs. Pebble smartwatches for life integration

By Updated on

The world of smartwatches seems to be gaining momentum as more and more products start emerging with promises of great things, but it may take some time for these to attract people’s attention as we are still unsure whether these gadgets are really worth investing in.

With a few different products emerging today we thought it would be a good idea to have a look at a couple and the video above this article highlights the Martian Passport and the Pebble as they try to find out which is best. Lasting around 6 and half minutes this video is presented by a female host, so without being too derogatory we understand that many women will look at outfits that match as well as the overall look, which could be more feminine or masculine.

We say this because watches are funny things when it comes to personal choice and or course a female will be looking for something sleek and stylish, but also feminine as well. While men’s fashion for watches seems to have gone in favour of the bigger more cumbersome looking monstrosities I have seen in public.

As the presenter looks for something that may make her take off her Michael Kors watch, it seems like Michael Kors has cornered the market as a fashion accessory, so we find it hard to believe any smartwatch will replace this current designer watch that shows elegance.

On a personal note the Martian Passport looks more attractive and the style suits a woman better than the Pebble, although her outfits seem to do both smartwatches justice. The big screen on the Pebble makes reading emails and other information easier, and regarded as a reasonable price, while inconsistent notifications can be irritating and especially distracting while driving.

The Martian generally looks more attractive although this also gives inconsistent notifications overriding the Bluetooth feature in a car, while the price is regarded as quite high.

Overall we get the impression the Martian is the prettier more attractive version that looks more like a watch and the 2 way voice control is a huge selling point. While the Pebble is a bit more childish looking, the style is said to grow on you but unlike the Martian charging with a micro USB, the Pebble has a propriety charging cable, so you cannot use it with cables you may have already at home.

Surprisingly, the Pebble eventually won the presenter over with its nice big screen and functionality, although the Martian looks better on the wrist. Check out video above and let us know your thoughts on these smartwatches, and whether you feel this technology will take a while to catch on.
