After spending a couple of hours playing Grand Theft Auto V it dawned on us that we hadn’t visited the shooting range, which is known as AMMU NATION in the game. So with this in-mind, we went directly to one of GTA V’s shops for weapons and decided to have some target practice.
We spent around an hour working our way through the side missions at the shooting range. If you haven’t tried this, then we highly recommend you do especially if you love any sort of shooting range games.
The challenges at the GTA V shooting range include handguns, submachine guns, assault rifles, shotguns, light machine guns and heavy guns. Each of these weapon types has 3 challenges, which you need to hit a certain target to unlock the next weapon type.
If you want to rank highly on the online leaderboards, then you would want to spend a few hours practicing and get at least gold medals in each of the weapon categories.
You can take a look at some GTA V gameplay below this article that features a shooting range walkthrough and how to get gold medals. The video runs for just fewer than 20 minutes, so you will certainly get a good look at this section of the game.
GTA V weapons setup stops cheaters – you might have already worked out that you cannot use cheats in GTA V to get weapons. This fact is something that upset a few gamers, although we would point out those people normally like to get weapons without a lot of work.
You can use certain cheats in GTA V to increase your money, so this is one way to get weapons faster but there’s nothing like GTA IV in terms of all advanced weapons being unlocked via a cheat.
Did you ever cheat to get weapons in GTA IV, and if so are you disappointed GTA 5 doesn’t have this option? Personally, we prefer this setup thanks to it being too tempting to cheat in the previous Grand Theft Auto game to unlock weapons.
